Official World Series of Glass Rules & Regulations

The World Series of Glass recognizes the best in Boro glass pieces of the year. All entries must be submitted by 10PM on Jan 30th, 2024 (First day of Glass Vegas)

Artists may enter finished glass works into the following categories: Solo, Millie, Collab, Pendant, Drinking Vessels, and our NEW category Non-Functional. All submitted artwork must be made in part by the artist submitting the piece into the WSOG.

All submissions are subject to approval by Las Vegas Management.

Category Criteria

*Collaborations can be entered in every category except the solo category.

• Solo
  • Piece must be Functional/Smokable
• Millie (Murrine)
  • Colored patterns or images made in a glass cane
• Collab
  • Piece must be Functional/Smokable
  • 2+ Artists
• Pendant
  • Wearable pendant (functional/non-functional)
  • Must be able to be hung by a chain/cord
• Drinking Vessels
  • Must be a functioning drinking vessel
• Non-Functional
  • Must be a non-functional glass sculpture.
  • From marbles to dresses and anything in between, this category is a wildcard.

Drop off & Set Up

• All submissions are subject to approval by Las Vegas Management
• All artwork submitted in the WSOG competition is to be made prior to the event. It could have been created yesterday or your favorite piece made years ago, as long as it meets the base criteria for each category.
• There is a $25 per piece entry fee (form of payment: card)
• You can enter your piece prior to the show online, to ensure your place in the competition, as pieces entered onsite are subject to space availability
  • * Please note - Piece must still be submitted by 10pm on Jan 30th to be displayed and judged in the competition even if you are pre-entered
• All entries must be brought to the Las Vegas Convention Center (South Hall) on the 1st day of the show (January 30th, 2024) to be installed in the showcases, submissions will be accepted between:
  • 10am-10pm for exhibitors and
  • 7pm-10pm for non-exhibiting artists
• If an entry fails to meet the individual category criteria it will be denied entry to WSOG, as all submissions are subject to approval by Las Vegas Management.
• Submitting artist must be present at the show.
• Artists do not have to be exhibitors to enter the competition but must register at the show as Artists to obtain an entry badge.
• We will make every effort to display your art to your specifications, but please note that the physical placement of the art in the WSOG Gallery is at the discretion of the Glass Vegas management.
• If a submitted artwork needs power, it must be provided by the artist and in battery operated form only. (Electrical power will not be provided)

Judging, Winners, Photos & Pickup

• Entries must stay in the WSOG display area until the end of show February 1st, 2024 @ 7pm – No exceptions
• There are 4 potential winners per category
  • 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place – judged by 3 industry professionals
  • People’s Choice – Chosen by Glass Vegas attendees
• Winners will be announced on the 2nd day of the show (January 31st, 2024) on stage #1, at approximately 6PM
  • Please check show information as event gets closer for specific WSOG information on date/times and locations
• Each winner must get a professional photo of them and their trophy at the photo booth next to the stage immediately after they leave the stage. Photos of winning artwork are taken separately.
• Photos are not guaranteed for non-winning pieces, but we will do our best to take as many photos as possible.
• By submitting your piece to the WSOG, entrants agree that any/all artwork submitted can be photographed and used by Glass Vegas for advertising purposes.
• All entries must be picked up between 7pm-9pm on the last day of the show, February 1st, 2024
